There seem to be lots of recipes for La Cucaracha, most containing tequila. Here are some of them. Mix equal parts of tequila, cointreau or any other triple sec and Kalhua. Mix and set light to it. Best drunk in one. Mix 2 oz coffee liqueur, 1/2 oz lime juice and 1 oz tequila. Shake with ice and then strain into a cocktail glass. Good for hangovers. Others just mix water and tequila in equal parts.
Spoon. The name derives from the Spanish word for clams, as early spoons were fashioned from clam shells fitted with silver handles.
Shoveller. A duck with a shovel-shaped bill with which it plunders the muddy bottoms of ponds.
Draining spoon. This is generally a large kitchen spoon with holes in it useful for lifting foods from cooking liquor so that the liquid can drain away.
