Angostura. The most famous patent bitters. Originally made in Venezuela, now produced in Trinidad. Angostura is the tincture of the bark of a tree, Cusparia trifoiata. Gentian is its most pronounced ingredient of Angostura bitters but the full recipe is a closely guarded secret.
