Water chestnut. The corm of a type of a water grass or sedge. They are used in Thai and Chinese cookery to add crunch and are also used to make desserts and drinks elsewhere in South East Asia. They are available fresh or tinned and can be used raw or cooked. They retain their shape well during cooking.
The Asian stinging catfish or fossil cat. It is found in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand and Burma. It can administer a powerful sting which has been known to be fatal to humans.Said, like magur, to be good for recovering patients.

Bael fruit; a close relative of the citrus. The fruit is about the size of, and has the appearance of a greyish-yellow orange with a thin woody rind. The floury pulp is pale orange in colour and has numerous seeds. Dried slices are soaked and boiled and the resulting liquid sweetened and drunk. Used for medicinal purposes.
