A 19th Century heirloom, indeterminate variety of tomato which produces large, deep oblate fruits somewhat similar to a watermelon. They have purplish-red flesh which is extremely meaty, sweet and mild.
Roasted watermelon seeds are popularly served in Egypt as a snack and in India.
Both the leaves and flowers of water parsnip may be used for food though I have read that it is toxic to mammals, which doesn’t sound very promising. It grows in damp boggy places.
Jambu. Jambu is a name given to many juicy, thirst-quenching fruits. They have diverse appearances and differ in size. The most commonly available is the bright red wax jambu or water roseapple.
A small seed which is used in ice creams and desserts, giving them a hazel nutty, mocha coffee type of flavour.
