An indeterminate heirloom variety of tomato developed in the United States from a Marie heirloom. It is a vigorous variety which produces round, smooth, bright orange fruit weighing 225-280 g (8-10 oz). They have firm, meaty flesh with few seeds and a full flavour and appear in mid season.
A nickname for the shaping of halved tomatoes or oranges, various fruits and vegetables, creating a jagged, zig-zag edge. This is thought to emulate the v-shape of Van Dyke's beard.
Vanessa is a versatile first early potato with very attractive pink skin and pale yellow flesh. Very good flavour. Boil, steam or bake.
